A Note From Carl Davick:
We are so looking forward to playing in the park on Tuesday. As I try to do every year, the concert will feature an eclectic selection of light classics of different styles and genres. A few highlights for the night will include: Mozart’s Divertimento in F, which is a delightful piece most likely written for an evening of lighter music for the leading residents of Salzburg; The Old Boatman by Florence Price. It’s a beautiful, lyrical piece by Price, who is recognized as the first African American woman to have a composition performed by a major symphony orchestra; for our Disney fans, we will be playing selections from the classic movie, Ratatouille which will transport the listeners to Paris, France; We will also pay homage to the great musical theater composer, Stephen Sondheim with an absolutely stunning arrangement of his Send in the Clowns.
These are just a few of the musical treats that will be performed on Tuesday by my wonderful friends.
